Speaking Up: Why It’s Necessary and How to Approach It Clinically
This 3-hour on demand, non-interactive distance learning course will include four talks about speaking up. The first talk will examine the mental health benefits of open dialogue and the costs of censorship. The second talk will focus on the experience of self-censorship in academic programs. The third will look at false assumptions that may drive people to support censorship. The fourth will review evidence-based clinical tools to help people consider their decision to speak up or not, as well as strategies to engage others in dialogue if one does choose to speak.
