Three Cultural Trends Shaping Contemporary Psychodynamic Therapy: Authoritarianism, Morality, and Humor
This 2-hour on demand, non-interactive distance learning course will include lectures on three cultural trends shaping contemporary psychodynamic therapy: a possible increase in right/left-wing authoritarian character structure, the decreasing role of morality as a central feature in the treatment of personality disorders, and the enduring value of humor to bridge divides. Complementarity and tensions between all three will be explored.
