Wrestling with Racial and Cultural Reductionism
This 2-hour on demand, non-interactive distance learning course will explore thinking beyond generalizations and guarding against a priori assumptions based on the patient’s membership in a particular demographic group. Factors such as parental milieu, education, economic security, degree of religious adherence, and other determinative factors are also relevant in psychic and personality development. The workshop will review the interpersonal technique of inquiry as one path toward discovering the patient’s unique individuality as it interacts with these forces.
